Traumatic Event Services

You may be entitled to up to 36 counseling sessions

Office Craig Tiger Act / HB 2502 pertaining to First Responders, PTSD and Traumatic Event Services


Requires that all members who see or respond to a traumatic events (see categories below) and were negatively impacted would need to be provided up to 36 traumatic event service visits.


TO QUALIFY FOR THIS BENEFIT YOU WILL NEED TO FALL INTO ONE OF THESE 6 CATEGORIES BELOW

Pick a category that is most applicable to your situation and fill out the form below. On the form please indicate the category and date the event took place. A Behavioral Health Care Manager will contact you soon to help coordinate services. 

Traumatic Event Categories

Category 1

Visually witnessing the death, maiming, or immediate aftermath of such a death or maiming of one or more human beings.

Category 2

Responding to or being directly involved in a criminal investigation of an offense involving a dangerous crime against children.

Category 3

Requiring rescue in the line of duty where one’s life was endangered.

Category 4

Using deadly force or being subjected to deadly force in the line of duty, regardless of whether the first responder was physically injured.

Category 5

Witnessing the death of another peace officer or firefighter while engaged in the line of duty. 

Category 6

Responding to or being directly involved in an investigation regarding the drowning or near drowning of a child.

TRAUMATIC EVENT SERVICES FORM
