Dr. Kerry Ramella, LPC, Ph.D., is the Co-Fouunder and Clinical Director of Public Safety Crisis Solutions (PSCS) in Phoenix, Arizona. With over 35 years of experience in public safety and clinical mental health, she provides clinical oversight to PSCS clinicians and offers specialized treatment for first responders.
Dr. Ramella earned her Ph.D. in Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She serves as a Behavioral Health Consultant with the International Association of FireFighters and is an instructor at California State University, teaching Behavioral Health in the Fire Service within their Wildland Urban Interface program.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ramella is actively involved in various public safety and behavioral health committees. She serves on the Board of Directors for Community Bridges and contributes to numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing mental health support for first responders.
Dr. Ramella's extensive background includes roles as a radio dispatcher and 911 operator, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by public safety personnel. Her dedication to developing behavioral health programs and training for first responders underscores her commitment to improving mental health and resilience within this community.
Brian French LPC a dedicated firefighter with over 17 years of experience in the field, committed to improving the lives of his fellow first responders and their families. He played a pivotal role in founding Firestrong.org, a vital resource created to provide support for firefighters, focusing on mental health and wellness. Additionally, he helped establish the Phoenix Fire Department Peer Support Team, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing the unique challenges firefighters face in their demanding roles.
Understanding the importance of culturally competent care, Brian contributed to forming a group that connects firefighters and their families with therapists who specialize in understanding the firefighting profession. This initiative ensures that those seeking help receive empathetic and effective support tailored to their experiences.
Brian continues to collaborate with Local 493, the Phoenix Firefighters Union, and the 100 Club of Arizona, extending his advocacy for cutting-edge resources to aid in managing PTSD and other mental health challenges. Through these partnerships, he works to provide access to advanced treatments such as ketamine therapy, the Stellate Ganglion Block(a treatment for trauma-related stress), and innovative methods like Alpha Stim and Brain Tap, which integrate new technologies for mental health recovery.
